Maya Angelou says that words are things. Words stick to the walls, words stick to the carpet. I add that words stick to other people and to ourselves.
Your words influence your health. Your word is law. Your words have power.
When I lived in Los Angeles, I went to a one-woman show written by a woman who had experienced some type of cancer. The show was delightful and funny. Later I saw that she was writing more shows and experiencing new cancers again and again. She was using her words to make a business out of her dis-ease.
Carolyn Myss says one reason people don't heal is because they have no honor. That most people live in their shadow self and do not keep their word. She says that we have chosen to accept this and overlook the fact that most people do not keep their word. Their word means nothing.
If you truly desire to remain in well-being the first thing to do is to keep your word. To yourself and to others. Keep your commitments.
Your word is gold. Your word is your health and well-being.
