Suicide
is something that I am too familiar with. Without going into all the gory
details, my husband tried to commit suicide a few years ago because he had
become addicted to opiates from a stomach issue, and he didn't know it until he
tried to get off of it with no help from the medical community (They accused him
of being a drug addict and turned their back on him.) He was in so much pain, he
had lost hope. Luckily I found him in time, we got him off the opiates, and he
has continued to improve over time.
We
also lost an extended family member, a teenager, who committed suicide, which is
just heartbreaking.
And
I have suffered from depression at different times in my life, as did my father
and my niece. And that is why I felt compelled to put together the collaborative
book, How
to Crush it in Business Without Crushing Your Spirit, How Entrepreneurs can
Overcome Depression and Find Success. In this book, my co-writers and I
share our stories about how we deal with depression and how we have overcome it
in situations ranging from deep-seated childhood trauma, to situations such as
the 2008 recession. If you know someone who is suffering from depression, we

This
date will live in infamy in the United States. It is the day we lost over 3,000
innocent citizens when airplanes hit the twin towers in New York City. This day
we remember them, pray for their families, and hopefully, contemplate what each
of us can do to make sure this NEVER happens again. Peace.
