Happy International Women's Day!

International Women's Day dates back over 100 years. It started as a labor movement, but now focuses on women workers and advancing women's rights in the workforce, politics and society.
Hats off to all the women entrepreneurs and women workers out there!

What's new?

I found myself dealing with a situation that was not making happy, but it was something I had committed to without totally understanding the ramifications of it and how much of my time it would take. But, one thing about me, I stick to my word, so I didn't feel I could cut my losses; I am seeing it through. But, I am also aware that it is something I will not do again.

Sometimes, when things like this happen and I need someone to talk to, I call up one of my close friends who are great sounding boards. I told my friend that I was feeling stuck in the situation and she mentioned that this is a recurring theme for me. It made me think that I have to reframe my speech around it and know that it was my choice to stay in the situation and by reframing it as a choice, it removes the feeling of victimhood. (Sometimes, hearing the truth is painful, but necessary!)

Also, since I took the One Funnel Away Challenge , I've been getting a lot of great feedback on my articles and emails, and it feels really good to know that I am touching people in a deeper way that before. (See announcements for info on the next challenge.)

I recently watched a video from Dov Baron on leadership on LinkedIn where he talked about how leaders must build relationships, and must allow themselves to be vulnerable to connect authentically. I feel like that is what I am doing in my articles and emails so much better than I did before....and also in upcoming podcast trainings.

It can be scary to share at a deeper level. And, sometimes, people want to avoid it out of fear they won't be liked, or fear of screwing up, or even the fear of being boring. I don't worry so much any more about not being liked because I have a very strong network that supports me, and I'm proud of the work I am doing, but I definitely have fears of screwing up and even of being boring since I've become a full-time caregiver and don't get out as much as I used to. We go through phases in life. This is where I am right now.

I'm sharing this to tell you that it's okay whatever cycle you're in. Just accept it, reframe it if you have it, and know that it's just one phase of many in life and it won't stop you from running your business or being successful.

That's it for now!
