The Shorty Awards honor the best of social media, recognizing people and organizations on Twitter, Facebook, Tumblr, YouTube and other social media sites.

Millions of people visit the Shorty Awards site every year to support their favorite social media content creators by tweeting nominations.

Help me achieve this honor:  6^th Annual Shorty Awards’ Winner.  The winners are chosen by leaders in technology, journalism, business and culture, ‘Real-Time Academy Members’, which will be revealed on April 7^th, 2014 at the ceremony at the New York Times building in New York City.  The Academy recognizes the best and most innovative uses of real-time media.

TO MAKE A NOMINATION:

• Go to shortyawards.

• First log in with your Twitter Account, top / right hand corner.

• In the ‘MAKE A NOMINATION!’ box, under ‘Choose a category’, select ‘Other’ [for #BestTwitterParty] or 'Author' [for #BestMotivation].

• Next, under ‘Twitter @username of person’, type ‘username’.

• Then in the box ‘I nominate @GaryLoper for a Shorty Award in [either #BestTwitterParty or #BestMotivation] because…’.

• See sample tweets below. Please create your own tweets. Identical tweets automatically generated in mass will not be counted for the rankings.

• Be creative with a reason. A tweet without a reason will not count.
