Race and War - Viewing Party and Crucial Conversation Workshop

TODAY at 4pm PST I will host the very first private viewing party of my award winning one act play entitled "Race and War: an awkward conversation," and I will recite "White And Rong" a poem found on the Polly Ticks album and in the book Lyrics for Langston. 

What you may not know is I've been married for 20 years in an interracial relationship and I'm a communication professor. I want to share tips on how to have heart felt talks with your loved ones. These insights on the topic of race and the un-civil war that plagues the U.S. is timely and necessary. 

Bring your questions about how to have crucial and courageous conversations about race mixing, hate groups, and more to our brave space. We will discuss what happened to my body before I went on stage to reenact a true story and questions the play brings up. We will discuss the rise in hate groups like the Ku Klux Klan and my encounter with a former member. We will discuss tips for cross-cultural communication and if successful interracial couples have insights that need to be shared now more than ever.
